How long do human needs projects last?
All human needs projects are categorized as either a community development project or a disaster relief project.
Community development - Long-term, lasting up to five years. For example:
- water well drilling
- water purification
- agricultural needs
- job skills training
- education
- sanitation and hygiene ministries.
Disaster relief - Short-term, generally lasting no longer than twelve months. Provide emergency items such as these:
- food
- water
- shelter
- blankets
- medical assistance
- cleanup and repair of community infrastructure
- reconstruction
