Lead your church ... what are next steps
Can your church make a powerful and substantial impact on the world in your lifetime? The answer to that question is “Yes!” The most obvious reason for this confidence is that the power and heart’s desire of our Lord Jesus has not changed. We see Pentecost-sized miracles even today in many places of the world where God is using churches of every size. It is amazing to see Him at work. He can and will use your church.
We have found that there are five missional milestones, drawn from the experiences of scores of churches, that are indicators of the mission heart of a church. We want to assist you to think strategically through some foundational mission principles that will equip your church for a holistic and powerful Acts 1:8 mission strategy designed to provide a basic framework for a church’s mission ministries. God will provide the details and direction as you go.
The goal is that, with an understanding of each of the five milestones, Awaken, Explore, Equip, Engage and Multiply, summarized below, you will be able to determine where your church is in its journey and then move toward fulfilling God’s heart for your church.
God’s heart is that people all over the globe from every nation, tribe and tongue would know and worship Him and He has chosen His church to go tell. Ask God to awaken our hearts to His passion that all people would hear the gospel. That we would embrace His mission and our role in it.
We want to be a part of what God is doing around the world. We don’t want to just be busy or add more activities. How can we be effective in taking the Gospel to those who haven’t heard both locally and globally? We need a mission plan/strategy.
God has broken our hearts for our city, the lost and least reached people but how can we cross the cultural, religious and geographical barriers to truly make disciples? How can we equip our church to truly live sent?
We desire our efforts to truly make a difference, to make disciples. We are ready to do our part. How do we endure and stay true to what God has called us to do, to make disciples who make disciples? We pray we will not quit until the Gospel has been preached to all peoples.
"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others." (2 Timothy 2:2) Find resources and contacts to help lead your church in next steps in mission and Oh Yeah, bring others along with you.
