Week of Prayer
Please check back in September for 2016 Lottie Moon resources.
November 29-December 6, 2015*
Week of Prayer for International Missions is an opportunity for churches to join in prayer for the work of missionaries who take the gospel to people in cities and extreme places.
It’s also a time to reflect on giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® that supports them.
Ideas for Sunday/Wednesday/Sunday:
Use these key days when your members are gathered to pray together for featured missionaries:
- Show videos in services, Sunday School, small group or missions group.
- Select photos from all Week of Prayer days for a slide show presentation.
- Loop videos and photos to play in your lobby or at the beginning of services.
Ideas for the other five days:
- Share links to each day’s story, photo gallery and video with your members to remind them to pray for featured workers and their ministry partners.
- Ask prayer teams and small groups who meet on these days to pray.
- Host a special Week of Prayer event.
Pray with Jim and Teresa Flora for God’s glory to be revealed among the Basotho people, captives of poverty, epidemic HIV and AIDS rates and a tradition of ancestor worship.
DAY 2: MONDAY
Pray that meeting needs for clean drinking water will open the hearts of Muslims for Christian aid worker Gary Warrior (name changed) and his team to share the love of Jesus.
DAY 3: TUESDAY
Pray with Donald and Helen McKinney (names changed) for Hindus to hear that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life — and the only hope of a better future.
Day 4: WEDNESDAY
Pray for Christian worker Peter Matheson (name changed) as he works tirelessly to give Syrian refugees — victims of a rebellion being fought against the Syrian regime and brutality caused by ISIS and other Islamic extremists — the hope found only in Jesus Christ.
Day 5: THURSDAY
Pray with Old Town Baptist Church as they reach the Buddhist “T” people, that they will come to faith in Jesus and stand firm in the face of opposition and persecution.
DAY 6: FRIDAY
Pray with Jeff and Liesa Holeman and their home church who adopted an unreached people group in Oaxaca, that this partnership will result in many knowing Jesus.
DAY 7: SATURDAY
Pray for Dave and Ivette Daggett as they train young leaders to disciple more youth to become leaders, and that church growth will continue there among the Deaf.
DAY 8: SUNDAY
Pray for the billions of people who haven’t yet heard Who God is and for missionaries who work in cities and extreme places to reach them, because He deserves their worship.
