PAKISTAN
Pakistan is experiencing its worst flooding in 80 years, impacting more than 13 million people. Baptist Global Response along with Southern Baptist relief workers reported that the scope of human suffering in Pakistan is staggering – and only expected to worsen. Millions of people have lost homes, possessions, crops and livestock, and the United Nations has estimated up to 3.5 million children are at high risk of deadly water-borne diseases. Relief efforts are hampered by continuing rains and landslides that are blocking roads and damaging bridges, communication links and supporting infrastructure. Pray for the relief workers at the aid shelters, asking specifically that they will stay healthy and that they will be safe from opposition. Also ask God to speed the delivery of the necessary tents, food supplies and medicine to the relief camps despite the washed-out roads and continual rains.
