Day of Prayer and Fasting for World Evangelization

Among the "Sayang" (name changed), there’s no running water. And the soil is too rocky to grow anything. So why do they stay? Because they heard something precious will be revealed to them. Pray it will change their lives.

And pray "something precious" will be revealed to all the peoples of the hard places.

Update! June 8, 2009
Already your prayers are being answered. Please continue to lift up the Sayang and related people groups with these new requests just in from the field:
  • Praise the Lord for drawing two more people to Christ and eight more to follow Him in believer's baptism! These individuals are from people groups related to the Sayang and represent three families that made decisions together. Amazing!
  • Please pray that others who have recently followed Christ would feel compelled to follow Him in believer's baptism. Pray for another baptism that will take place this week.
  • Please pray for the villagers of “Yang Jauh” and for the new believer “Agus” (featured in the Day of Prayer and Fasting video). They have recently had a respected family member die in the middle of a land dispute with local authorities, and it appears that foul play was involved. Agus and the villagers are doing all they can to uncover the truth but are feeling helpless. Pray that the Lord would show them He offers hope to those without hope and draws close to the brokenhearted.
Update! May 28, 2009
Please remember these requests just received from the field:
  • Praise the Lord for drawing 27 people to follow Christ from the "Aroma" people, a people group related to the Sayang. These 27 have been baptized within the last two weeks. These are the first individuals from any of these related people groups that have given their lives to Christ since "Agus" (featured in the Day of Prayer and Fasting video) first accepted the Lord.
  • Pray that Gospel recordings in the language of the Sayang will be used to bring many to Christ. Agus is distributing these recordings in the village of "Yang Jauh."
  • Pray that the initial distribution of recently printed books of Scripture would find fertile soil among the related people groups known as the Sayang, Aroma and "Bunga." These books have been designed to address local legends and create bridges to the Gospel.
