WORLD LEADERS. "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
CARACAS, VENEZUELA (cah-RAH-kahs). "Please pray for Project Jericho, which the mobilization of Venezuelan churches to the reality that there are millions of people in Caracas and Venezuela who do not know Jesus as Lord. Our Caracas for Christ Team has been developing the project with the support of Venezuelan partners and the IMB media team in Lima, Peru. The media team arrived in early November to tape street interviews, and record vision-casting and training modules. They are presently working feverishly to get the materials together for February, when the Caracas for Christ Team will be casting a vision and training at the Caracas Baptist Association's annual meeting (ASIBARCA) on February 17-20, and the Consejo Evangelico Convention on February 28-29. The framework for the website is set up, and we will be providing the content in both English and Spanish. The logo is completed that will identify the project on all promotional materials. Project Jericho is scheduled for April 15-21. The goal is to cast a vision for the Great Commission and making disciples who will follow Jesus Christ. The focus will be one week of prayerwalking in neighborhoods and streets where members live throughout Caracas and Venezuela, identifying 'persons of peace' (Luke 10:6), and starting new works. More information will be made available in February to allow stateside churches to participate in virtual prayerwalks for Caracas."

EUROPEAN PEOPLES. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit that characterizes the lives of Christians. The ability to have joy in all situations is a gift that God grants to those who follow Him. Petition the Father to fill those serving among European peoples with overflowing joy that will flow out of them and into the lives of others. May God use this joy to draw non-Christians to Himself, as they see the blessings that are given to those who live lives surrendered to Him. "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13, HCSB).

TUAREG OF NORTHERN AFRICA (TWAR-eg). T was having violent stomach pains and vomiting. She said, "I don't want doctors, shots or medicine. I just want to pay to have prayers said over me." When told that Jesus paid the cost and we don't have to pay money to pray through Him, T did not understand that concept. From January through June, a six-month medical volunteer is working among the Tuareg. Pray that through this, many Tuareg will come to a better understanding of their physical and spiritual health.

NIAMEY, NIGER. Welcome to Niamey (pronounced NEE-ah-may), the capital city of Niger, a land-locked West African nation that has been described as a large village, since many of the roads are unpaved and one can often find cows, sheep, goats and camels as readily as mopeds and taxis. Close to 1 million people from more than 10 different people groups call Niamey home. The homes and financial resources of these residents vary greatly. Some live in cement-brick homes with tile floors and air conditioning. Others live in grass huts and allow their animals to graze on scraps and garbage in the city streets. While French is the official language of the country, Zerma and Hausa are widely spoken in Niamey. Most people consider themselves to be Muslim, and work hard to adhere to the tenants of that religion. Mosques of different sizes dot the landscape of the dusty city, and their prayer calls can be heard over loudspeakers, reminding followers when it is time to bow toward Mecca. Although most people follow Islam, many are open to religious discussion, and welcome prayers from Christians for their well-being or in times of need. Please pray for the salvation of the people of Niamey.

SEREER OF SENEGAL AND THE GAMBIA (suh-RARE). The missionary team serving among the Northern Sereer consists of only one family. Pray for John and Karen and their children, as they have just returned from stateside assignment and are getting settled back into their home. Goodbyes stateside are always emotional and draining. Pray that their boys will show excitement and an eagerness to be back at their old school with classmates from several countries. As they go out to renew contacts in villages, pray for them to see evidence of how believers have grown and of how seekers have been drawn closer to the Truth. Ask God to give entrance to new villages. During stateside mobilization, many churches heard about the Northern Sereer people and the need for others to come alongside this family to partner in reaching the lost. Pray that this mobilization will bear fruit and that churches will send volunteers in the coming months. Ask God to call out teammates for this family.

JZ CITY, CHINA. Pray for those who received the Truth to constantly claim God's grace, love, forgiveness and power. "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD" (Psalm 1:1-2a, NKJV). Petition for local believers to meditate on the way of the righteous and the end of the ungodly as they continually follow Him. Pray that all of the local believers will continue to be witnesses during Chinese New Year, as they are visiting with family all around the country. A huge number of them received the "Hope" DVD. Pray that they will show the DVD to their family members and relatives so that hearts will open to Him.

Ask that she will lead her family to Christ while she is with them on vacation. Lift up the group of women with whom she meets, asking that they will all stand strong and firm during the Spring Festival holiday. Also pray that EM will be healed and will know clearly that she was healed by God, and ask that her healing will lead many others to know the power of God. Pray that her physical healing will also result in the healing of her family situation.

TIBETAN BUDDHISTS OF THE HIMALAYAS (tih-BEH-tun BOOH-dihsts). Because of the harsh winter conditions in the mountains, many Tibetan Buddhists come down into the cities and stay with family for the winter, so a medical group will come and share God's Word with them while providing much-needed medical care. Please pray for this trip and for God to move in hearts. One believer, B, has been sharing with friends and family and has been receiving much persecution. He has been strong and totally dependent upon and confident in Christ. Please pray that B will continue to seek his strength in Christ and be encouraged through the Word. Ask that B will continue to share and be bold for Him. Please pray that B's mother and friends will come to know Jesus and proclaim Him as their Savior.

ISAAN OF THAILAND (EE-sahn). In Isaan, it is quite common for a person to be the first believer in their entire extended family and even in their community. As a result, it is quite likely that an Isaan Christian young person has never experienced a loving Christian family life. Please pray for young believers to seek God and His plans for relationships--as singles and also as those Isaan Christians who meet, get to know and marry another Christian, and raise a family. Pray that Christian families will be open to sharing their time and family life with single people and newlyweds, discipling them to follow Jesus in this area of their lives. Pray for Isaan believers to obey Jesus' command in John 13:34-35, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know you are my disciples, if you love one another." Pray specifically for a young Christian couple with no other believers in either family to be able to give a clear witness of how Jesus has changed their lives during their February wedding and as they begin their lives together.

SOUTH ASIAN PEOPLES. On January 4, one serving in a position of leadership over those who are ministering among South Asian peoples wrote: "As we begin a new year, I wanted to let you know that I'm praying for a fruitful year ahead for the spread of the Gospel, disciples and churches among South Asian peoples around the world. I'm also praying that we will continue to build on the momentum . . . as we move to consolidate . . . this year and have a smaller leadership team." Pray for a spirit of courage, love and unity among the leadership team as they meet on February 6-8 "to seek His face on how to continue building on the momentum we are seeing in the fields and take full advantage of the leaders He has entrusted to us!"

In February and March, members of a Last Frontier people group will be traveling across their country's border to receive Montessori training in a more developed country. Please pray for safe and uneventful travel across the border and into the mega-city where the training will be held. Pray for adequate housing, and lift up the young teachers as they begin to grasp new concepts for preschoolers and then take the concepts back to their country for application. Intercede for the new preschool, as it still needs government approval to open officially. It will be the first of its kind in its city. Pray for those who are facilitating the travel, traveling with the young teachers, and training alongside them as well.
