That all peoples may know Him

During his 30 years as a missionary in Bangladesh, RT Buckley weathered many deadly cyclones. So when Katrina hit their retirement home in Picayune, Miss., he and Fran did what they always have – they set out to help others.
Daniel Peters regularly meets with Christian workers in Madrid to discuss creative and successful methods for evangelism and discipleship to reach the sprawling city’s 6 million inhabitants.

“Daniel Peters”: Connecting people in Madrid, Spain

“Everything that happens in Madrid happens over a cup of coffee,” jokes “Daniel Peters,” strategy coordinator for the city of 6 million. Peters’ task is to ensure that every people group there has a chance to hear the gospel. Find out how he’s doing it.

That all peoples may know Him
This Pakistani man lost everything in the Oct. 8 earthquake, including his family and home. The only thing he has left is the shawl around his shoulders.

Earthquake survivors' needs differ from tsunami survivors’
Meeting medical needs, providing food, building temporary shelter and helping individuals generate income – in some ways response to the Oct. 8 earthquake that shook Pakistan and India will be similar to response to the Dec. 26 tsunami. But differences between the two disasters are vast. Read more.

Volunteers still work to rebuild after tsunami destruction
Almost $9 million of the $16.8 million given to the International Mission Board for tsunami relief has helped affected individuals and families rebuild their lives. But the work continues. Read more.

Southern Baptists respond to Hurricane Wilma devastation

Speaking of missions

Missions by the Book: God wants everyone to come to Him

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9, NIV).” – Early church leader Peter, encouraging believers as they faced skeptics

Quotable: No longer a struggling church
“I no longer consider Gateway a struggling church, but a church that is on mission with God.”  – Darla Richardson, member of Gateway Baptist Church in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, after the 30-40-member church gave more than $2,010 to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

Illustration: Nepali men believe
Two mountain guides in Nepal began asking Christian workers questions about their faith and about Jesus. When the Christians gave them Nepali New Testaments, one guide sat on a rock outside a Buddhist monastery and read the first five chapters of the Gospel of Matthew aloud. About a week later, the guides said they had realized Jesus’ way was the true way and they wanted to follow Him. The beautiful hands and feet of the Christian workers brought them the gospel. Now they need the hands and feet of Nepali believers to help them grow in their faith.
