That all peoples may know Him

On foot, bicycles, motorcycles or in cars — Indians are on the move as the country grows toward the status of the world’s most populous nation.

Zippies on a fast track

India’s young “Zippies” want it all. One Indian magazine described these young Indians thus: “Oozes attitude, ambition and aspiration. Cool, confident and creative. Seeks challenges, loves risks and shuns fears.” Sound like anyone you know?

Find out one thing they need, but most aren’t finding.

Energizing your church for missions

The churches with the most vital missions involvement make it a year-round affair. Consider these suggestions from Jerry Daniel. Jerry leads a team devoted to providing the help you need as you involve your church members in missions.

The Gift

As you shop for everyone on your list, don’t forget the most important gift of all. Give of yourself. Watch the video.

News

Southern Baptists have had missionary physicians like Dr. Larry Pepper working with AIDS patients in Uganda since the disease began appearing there in the early 1980s

20 years later, Uganda AIDS battle
has turned to spiritual issues

As a missionary physician in Uganda, Rick Goodgame was among the first to study the mysterious disease later identified as AIDS from an African clinic. Recently he and his wife, Susan, now living in Texas, jumped at an opportunity to return to Uganda for six months. Find out how things have changed.

Read what another missionary, who’s been on the front lines in AIDS education in Africa since the early days of the epidemic, says will — and won’t — stop AIDS.

The Dhobis seek to be ‘scrubbed clean’

Their fingers are worn and their bodies are weary. Day after day, they squat along the banks of South Asia’s rivers and scrub clean the clothes of community members who have hired them at a meager wage. They are the Dhobi (pronounced DOE-bee) people and traditionally are the washermen and washerwomen of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. About 5.3 million Dhobis live in India alone. Most Dhobis are Hindus, but a tenth of them are Muslims. They mostly worship Ghatoia, the Hindu god of ghat, or of the river landings where they wash clothes. Before entering the rivers, the Dhobis bow to the stone on which they will wash the clothes. Pray that the Dhobis will meet the living God who can wash away sins and make hearts pure. Pray that the Dhobis will trust in Jesus fully and worship Him only. Pray for a church-planting movement to rise up among the Dhobi people of South Asia.

See how you can pray for other Unreached People Groups in South Asia.
