Four
Southern Baptist workers slain in Iraq
Southern
Baptists are mourning the loss of four aid workers Larry
and Jean Elliott, Karen Watson and David McDonnall who died
March 15 after a drive-by shooting by unidentified assailants
in Mosul, Iraq. Davids wife, Carrie McDonnall, also injured,
is in stable condition and is being evacuated to a military
hospital in Germany.
Larry
T. Elliott ,
60, and Jean Dover Elliott, 58, from
Cary, N.C., had served with the International Mission Board
in Honduras since 1978 and transferred to the Middle East
in February.
Karen
Denise Watson,
38, of Bakersfield, Calif., had served in the Middle East
with the International Mission Board since March 2003.
David
E. McDonnall,
29, and Carrie McDonnall, 26, of Rowlett,
Texas, began serving with the International Mission Board
in November.

Va., offices Tuesday morning.
