"Beyond the Wall: Loving the Peoples of the Arabian Peninsula" marks the 17th year for such a focused, 24-hour prayer effort.

Pentecost prayer challenge to focus on peoples of the Arabian Peninsula

On Pentecost Sunday, May 30, Southern Baptists across America will unite in prayer, asking God to help 43 million people in seven countries of the Arab world understand how much He loves them. Lead your church to join in united prayer -- and use this day to lead your church into a deeper commitment to pray for the world year round. Order the free resource kit -- including video segments in English, Korean and Spanish -- to lead this day in your church. Learn more.

What next?

After the Day of Prayer and Fasting for World Evangelization, then what? The world will not be won to Jesus in a single day. What about May 31, and June 1, and June 2 …?

Get on your knees again, asking God how He wants you participate in what He is doing as a result of the Day of Prayer and Fasting. When your heart has been stirred to compassion and you want to put feet to your prayers:

1. Pray through the 30-day Loving the Lost prayer guide. This will give you Scripture, testimonies, statistics and prayer starters on four of the world's major religions. Order now FREE.

2. Go to CompassionNet for fresh prayer requests directly from the field. You'll find options such as Wednesday Window on the World to print for your church's mid-week service and PRAYERplus, an opportunity for your church to adopt an unengaged people group.

3. Consider joining a missionary's team from this side of the ocean by becoming a prayer coordinator. Call (888) 462-7729 for a free information packet.

4. Find out how your church can connect personally with a missionary family.

5. Are you eager to look into the eyes of those you are praying for? Get details on volunteer trips.

He may be the first of his people in heaven

Revelation 7 tells us that one day people from all tribes and tongues and nations will worship at the throne of God. Rejoice that there now is at least one Bihari of Bangladesh before that throne. "K" came to faith in Jesus Christ during the turbulent 1980s that followed the war in which Bangladesh gained independence from Pakistan. A courageous elderly missionary woman had faithfully shared God's Word with K. After his baptism, his community was furious and severely persecuted him. Under great pressure, K resorted to following Jesus in secret. Last November, K, about 70 years old, died. Pray that other Bihari Muslims will follow Jesus, and that one day thousands of Biharis from Bangladesh will praise the Lord at His throne.

Find more prayer requests for the Biharis of Bangladesh and India.
