Tennessee church in over their heads

The folks at First Baptist Church of Powell, Tenn., must be one of the most confident congregations in the United States. They have to be. Why else would they commit to evangelize a city of 1.9 million people in India all by themselves? They must be crazy. Or is it a God thing? Find out.

A letter from Lottie

“Need it be said, why the week before Christmas is chosen? Is not the festive season when families and friends exchange gifts in memory of The Gift laid on the altar of the world for the redemption of the human race, the most appropriate time to consecrate a portion from abounding riches and scant poverty to send forth the good tidings of great joy into all the earth?” — Lottie Moon, Sept. 15, 1887

Read the letter from Lottie Moon that started the offering later named after this early China missionary.
