People Group Focus: The Lenca of Honduras
The Lenca people are one of the seven largest ethnic groups in Honduras. The Lenca lost their language in the early 1900's, and in general they now speak Spanish as if it were their native tongue.
Alcoholism is a critical problem for the Lenca. They are destroying their own lives and the lives of their families, as it not only affects their circumstances each day, but is also passed on as they teach their sons to drink at a young age.

Prayer Points for the Lenca 
1.
Please pray for the Alcoholics Anonymous group that is now meeting every Wednesday evening. G, the Honduran pastor working with your IMB missionaries, has begun to teach each Wednesday. There are around 70 in attendance each week. Please pray that God will use this opportunity to open their eyes to understand the gospel and the truth that they will only be changed by the transforming life of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Please pray for G as he ministers each week.

Pray for God to provide a safe place for Lenca men to worship Him and be discipled. Pray for God to keep these men strong in their faith despite persecution and ostracism they will face from their Catholic community.

Persecuted Church: Turkey
 In the middle of the month, two Turkish believers were arrested because of their faith. They have been released, but will come to trial around Nov. 23. Please pray for God to encourage them to stand firm in their faith, to provide opporunities for them to share about His power and goodness because of this situation. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give H. and T. the words they need when they come up before the court.
