(swah-HEE-lee) - For many Swahili-speaking Arabs of East Africa, their religious knowledge comes from their parents or religious teachers, who traditionally have come from the Arabian Peninsula. Many people in East Africa do not read Arabic well enough to understand the Quran, so for them, this means that culture and religion have become so intertwined that they are not able to tell them apart. The idea of seeking the will of God through the Scriptures is a foreign concept to new believers. Psalm 32:8 (ESV) promises that God "will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go." Pray that Christ followers in this people group will lean into the power they have in the Holy Spirit to search the Scriptures for themselves and experience God on a personal level.
The Raji of India, numbering only 650, are a very disadvantaged and oppressed people group. They speak the Rawat language and practice Hinduism. They are hunters traditionally and have a strong connection to the forest. As a result, they sell things made from wood, such as wooden bowls and tools. There are many types of outcasts mentioned in Scripture such as a leper, tax collector, foreigner, paralytic, and more. Pray that like these outcasts, the Raji will find acceptance with God through belief in Christ Jesus.
(jo-ja-KAR-ta) - Believers are in the final stages of implementing a community development project in partnership with a Baptist pastor so that they can share the gospel with unreached people in that district. In the community where this project will be implemented, the pastor is the only known believer in the entire village. However, although the rest of the community is from the Muslim majority faith, they highly value tolerance and are often open to discussing different belief systems. Please join us in praying that this project will open the door for the gospel to be proclaimed and that many will surrender their lives to Jesus Christ.
The islands of the Maldives need a supernatural loosening, a loosening of the grip of the evil one, as his claws are sunk deep into people's hearts. The Maldivians need new eyes to see what's true, new hearts to soften to that truth, new ears to hear the difference between what is right and what is almost right, and new minds not blocked by apathy but having the ability to think, care, and be curious. Believers need both the ability and the financial provision to get to all the islands to survey and talk with the remote people. They need the finalization of the Bible translation into the local language. Please intercede for the people of the Maldives!

(n-COY-yah) - Pray that there will be revival among the Nkoya people in the Western Province of Zambia and that hearts will turn toward Christ!
With the rising springtime temperatures, more and more women and children are getting out of their apartments and heading to the local parks to picnic and play. In the neighborhoods of "Southland" and "North Texelle," women and children are often in the parks late into the evening while men are sipping tea and talking with friends in local tea shops. Please pray for the good news of Jesus Christ to be proclaimed in the neighborhoods of "Southland" and "North Texelle." Pray for the parks to be places where women can hear the gospel for the first time. Pray for Jesus' death and resurrection to be lovingly and boldly explained to the men who frequent the neighborhood tea shops. Pray for men and women to hear the good news in their heart language, to understand it, and to place their faith in Jesus Christ.
(OO-tar pra-DESH) - In "Northtown," Razi, a believer, has been visiting all the Muslim places of worship in his area and faithfully proclaiming the gospel to men he meets there. He has met several men who have expressed an interest in learning about the Messiah. One leader even said that he wanted to begin walking with the Lord! Although Razi has personally seen this plentiful harvest, with cooler weather and many on his team struggling with various illnesses, others on Razi's team had begun to lose heart about reaching their Muslim neighbors, and they postponed going to share in nearby "D-town." Razi, however, has continued sharing in "D-town" and has developed many great contacts with whom he is following up. After some mature believers met with Razi's team recently, the team seemed to have renewed vigor and are now planning to launch back into the task. Pray for Razi to remain faithful and also to encourage his team onward in faithfulness in sharing with their Muslim neighbors. Pray for those whom Razi and his team are reaching and will reach with the gospel, asking that many will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
(kee-GOH-muh) - The Lake Tanganyika Basin Team writes: "Please join us in praying for a volunteer team of doctors, nurses, dentists, and helpers from several churches in Kentucky as they arrive on April 27 for their annual mobile medical/dental clinic. Last year, they had difficulty getting the dental instruments that they bring each year through customs. Although their equipment was eventually released, they were not able to provide dental services, but instead provided dental education and advice. Pray that this year, they will have no problems with their equipment and will be able to provide much-needed services. Pray for the village of Nyamore where these volunteers, our Tanzanian partners, and some of our team members will be providing medical and dental services on April 29 through May 4 while also sharing the good news in a variety of ways. Pray for the training of believers from Nyamore and from a neighboring village's Baptist church in how to help with the evangelism efforts that will be going on during the mobile clinic. Pray that these lessons will be learned well and that the small group of believers will be joined by many others who will realize their need for a Savior."
Pray for a healthcare practicum training that will be coming up for healthcare personnel. At this training, field workers will learn practical skills that they can use to meet the needs around them. In addition, they will get the tools they need to share this training with national partners to extend this compassionate ministry beyond what the field worker can do alone. Pray that the Lord will bring the appropriate field people to the training and that He will prepare the way for them to increase the effectiveness of their ministry as a result.
When Atih arrived in the English village, she was focused on learning to further her career. She occasionally went to church, yet experienced several challenges from the Lord. After a friend invited her to Red Letter Worship, she attended and found a group of joy-filled believers. Soon after, she realized she had not been immersed biblically after she repented and put her faith in Jesus. Atih and another family member followed through with believers' baptism. Since then, she has had an insatiable hunger for the Word of God. Since February, Atih has helped coordinate the musical worship of the weekly gathering. Pray for her as she considers pursuing a Master of Theology degree with a concentration in counseling. Many students in the English village need solid biblical counseling. Pray for Atih, as she also is a bold witness to other friends in her class, which she now views as an opportunity to further God's kingdom.
(ah-ZEYR-ees) - The Azeris of Iran have little opportunity to hear the gospel. The authorities restrict what websites they can see and also do not allow Christians to openly share their beliefs with others. Please pray that God will make a way for the Azeri people of Iran to hear His Word and truth, and ask that they will put their faith in Jesus. Please pray that the words of Matthew 4:16 (ESV)--"the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light, and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned"--will be fulfilled among the Azeris of Iran.
