Greetings and welcome to the Stateside Training Department Website

If you are planning to return to the field following stateside assignment, you are expected to attend a Stateside Assignment Conference, at board expense, early in your stateside assignment. Stateside Assignment Conferences include sessions that feature dialogue with board administrators, debriefing and re-entry issues, renewal times, updated information regarding the board and convention, attention to financial matters, and training sessions designed to equip you for stateside assignment and future overseas service. Beginning in 2006 each Stateside Assignment conference will include mandatory sessions on contingency training for all participants who have not already gone through the Fort Sherman Academy training on the field.

Representatives completing first term of service - If you are completing your first term of service, you must attend a Stateside Assignment Conference as early as possible during your stateside assignment. Your children, including those who have just finished high school on the field, but have not yet begun college, are expected to accompany you, at board expense. Conferences for children are specifically designed to meet the needs of third culture kids.

Representatives completing second and subsequent terms of service –You (Both spouses in the case of couples) are expected to attend a Stateside Assignment Conference as early as possible after arriving in the States. Your children, including those who have just finished high school on the field, but have not yet begun college, may accompany you, at board expense. Conferences for children are specifically designed to meet the needs of TCKs.

Representatives seeking retirement information - Pre-retirement information is included in Stateside Assignment Conferences. Representatives from GuideStone, Social Security, IMB Health and Benefits Office, Entrust Federal Credit Union, the IMB Member Care team, and other offices are available for personal consultations during the conference.

If you are on your final stateside assignment, have completed at least 15 years of service, and will not be returning to the field, rather than attending a stateside assignment conference, you will be invited to participate in Emeritus Recognition Conference in the year of your official retirement. If you are on your final stateside assignment and have served less than 15 years, we would welcome you to a stateside assignment conference at the learning center.

We continue to gather information regarding stateside study opportunities. A listing of these links is available on-line at: www.(you must insert company initials).org/SAResources

Information regarding OMCs, camps, conventions and other speaking opportunities can be obtained by contacting Karen Campbell (Office of Mobilization).

The entire learning center staff is determined to do everything possible to offer you an affirming and encouraging experience. We are eager to welcome you to a Stateside Assignment Conference and visit with you during your stay.

We hope to see you soon!
