True Love Waits
(Click the pictures to enlarge.)
The True Love Waits campaign is going strong in Zimbabwe. This is due
to God working through a hard working 2-year journeyman. He writes,
"we have shared the true love waits message with easily over 60,000 students this year, probably closer to 80,000 - but there is no way to be sure. We have shared in nearly 200 high school assemblies across the nation. At this point, we haven't counted them all, but there are over 50,000 true love waits commitments that have been made".
Perhaps all of these commitments are not sincere, but if just half are, then it is huge. Perhaps these commitments to True Love Waits can lead to a commitment to Christ as Lord.
Specifics...
"In
Harare High School - a young man in upper 6 (this is the last grade of school,
he is probably 18 years old or older) named Russell has taken the true love waits message to heart so much
that every time I see him he asks for 100 more cards so that he can continue to share them with his
friends. He has led over 200 people to make the true love waits commitment.
In Ellis Robbins High School, Harare - a young man - a rugby player - stood up in front of his whole school the day we were there and shared that he was going to make the true love waits promise. His dad had made him swear that he would not have sex until he was married, but that was not the only reason he was making that promise. He said he also wanted to honor God with his body.
A young man in Kariba shared with me after the assembly that he wanted to follow God, but didn't know if he could. I shared with him about power for living in Christ, and my own testimony. He wrote me a letter recently saying he had asked Christ into his heart, and wanted to know if I could send him a Bible. (we're sending him one)."
Stories like these are happening everywhere God opens the door to share this message.
