Missionary Role in Mobilization

Before You Go
-Enlist personal prayer intercessors.
-Print and distribute prayer cards.
-Enlist one or more churches for
personalized adoption.
-Arrange for printing and mailing of
periodic newsletter.
-Plan future stateside-assignment location
and possible missionary-in-residence
assignments.

On the Field
-Send regular prayer/newsletters focusing
on how God is at work, highlighting the
use of the Cooperative Program and
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
-Work with mission team to plan and use
multiple volunteer resources as
appropriate to field strategy—sports,
medical, evangelism, youth, students,
prayer teams, etc.
-Work with team to distribute and
propagate prayer needs to stateside
partners.
-Nurture partnerships with churches,
associations, state conventions,
colleges, seminaries, etc. with steady
flow of information, strategy updates and
testimonies.
-Provide comprehensive orientation to
volunteers and other visitors to the field.
-Communicate appropriate project needs
to stateside partners.

Prior to Stateside Assignment
-Coordinate deputation commitments with
the IMB Stateside Assignment
Department.
-Give priority in stateside commitments to
mission conferences with strategic
partners and schedule participation in On
Mission Celebrations (World Mission
Conferences).
-Consider serving as a
missionary-in-residence, working with
ethnic minorities or in a new work state
convention.
-Participate in a briefing with the regional
team in order to represent the total
region in stateside communication and
mobilization efforts.

While on Stateside Assignment
-Attend a stateside assignment
conference for sharing and equipping.
-Become familiar with IMB mobilization
resources and program.
-Work with the local speaker coordinator
where available to schedule available
open dates.
-Nurture potential missionary candidates
through advocacy for field needs.
-Personalize contacts with churches and
other partners, thanking them for support
and communicating ways they can be
involved in your particular strategy.
