When Jesus gave this command to take the gospel to all the world, He did not choose the commonly used word for "all" but a stronger, more explicit one. We as His people are to continue marching forward until absolutely all the earth hears the gospel. For nearly 2,000 years His people, with ebb and flow, have obeyed this command, and His Kingdom has been extended in every direction. As we advance into a new millennium, another word from Jesus takes on added meaning for us:

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come" (Matt. 24:14, NKJV).

"All the nations" means not all the countries but all the distinct tribes and people groups of the world. We and other evangelicals are now focused on reaching these last, lost peoples. And for the first time in history we can see the day in the not-too-distant future when this will be realized.

Reaching these peoples who live in spiritual darkness and do not have access to the light of the gospel will be difficult. But it is not impossible. It simply requires prayer, persistence and committed involvement.

Missions researchers have identified more than 2,000 unreached people groups who make up The Last Frontier of world evangelization.

About 250 of the largest people groups already have Southern Baptist missionaries working among them. They have been "engaged." But many of the others have no one.

PeopleLink is a highly personalized service provided to Southern Baptist churches. It exists solely to link your church with a missionary team and equip your church to be on mission with God to reach a people group. You will receive training and be assigned a "coach" to help you.

PRAYERplus ^top

If your church would like to take responsibility, under God, for one of the smaller hidden peoples who are not yet engaged, then PRAYERplus is for you.

A PRAYERplus partnership links your church with one of these smaller hidden peoples who have already been strategically identified by overseas field leadership. You will begin with prayer that the people may be open to the gospel, and you will pray for the Lord of the harvest to call out the laborers. When He does, you will then receive the same PeopleLink training that will allow you to work alongside the missionaries to actually evangelize your people group.
