Baptism in Russia

The collapse of the Soviet Union and the fall of communism brought about drastic changes in the lives of believers across the former Soviet Republics. Those who endured religious persecution under the communist regime finally experienced freedom, and many lived to pass on stories of persecution to their descendants. The children and grandchildren of those who were persecuted understand the cost of religious freedom, and this heritage of faithfulness has encouraged believers across the former Soviet Union to persevere in their faith today.
Here, a Russian house church baptizes 5 youth at a lake early on a Sunday morning. They began by playing praise songs, concluding with the Lord’s Supper.
