When he first came to the mission field, Cole Elbridge* served as an agriculturalist in Sub-Saharan Africa. A national partner invited Elbridge to start a Bible study. Initially, Elbridge hesitated, as his primary focus had been on agriculture and he didn’t feel confident enough to lead a Bible study. Shortly after the Bible study started, 21 people committed their lives to Christ. Elbridge was surprised. The people said they saw him living out his faith day to day in their community and they wanted to follow the God he followed. After the unexpected death of a local girl who was not a Christian, Elbridge and other believers realized the urgency of sharing the gospel because time is never a guarantee. *Name changed for security (IMB photo)
