Cave of Coffins

These shots were taken at Beit She’arim, the place the Sanhedrin fled after leaving Jerusalem around 70 AD. The “Cave of the Coffins,” pictured here, is the largest of the caves unearthed at Beit She’arim. The cave has two main corridors with rooms off of each. Excavators found 135 coffins in this cave.
