Project Overview

Almost a decade ago, a church was established in a district of this city that his home to hundreds of thousands of lost people but only few known believers. Still the only church in the district, it’s remained small and immature. Recently, a local brother started pastoring the church, and by God’s grace, he is hungry to see the church grow in number and health. He has invited us in to help encourage, counsel and train him to help lead and shepherd the church toward biblical faithfulness.   Your gift will help strengthen this church by underwriting evangelism training, discipleship mentoring, and leadership development to help the church grow in health and multiply. That looks like •    Demonstrating what faithful gospel proclamation looks like •    Training local believers to share their faith•    Teaching new believers to study the Word of God•    Encouraging them to join the local church and become faithful members•    Equipping maturing believers to serve as pastors, deacons, and leaders who are sent out to other places to start healthy churches    This opportunity is exciting because the most fruitful church planting in this region happens when foreigners and local leaders partner well together. You are essential to this partnership through prayer and funding! You will help establish this church on a biblical foundation until it is healthy enough to be self-supporting and self-propagating.   The church is in a highly visible area and legally established under an evangelical Protestant foundation. This legal protection and recognition gives legitimacy in a community that is highly suspicious of meetings in homes. While persecution still occurs, validity in the eyes of the community is critical for broadly sharing the gospel in this city.
