You Are Campaigning For:
Refugee Outreach & Discipleship
Project Overview
Nearly 14,000 refugees live in this Asian Pacific Rim country. They are not permitted to have a job, get married, or travel. Arriving from predominately Muslim countries such as Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, they wait and hope for resettlement in a third country. While they wait, God is working in their difficult situation. Some are hearing the gospel for the first time and following Jesus.
Your gift will purchase materials for adult English class through which the local refugee church engages refugees in conversation about the gospel. These materials will also be used in another part of the country where large groups of Muslim refugees are not currently being engaged. In addition, career training classes will be offered, covering topics such as drafting a resume, searching and applying for jobs in another country. These classes will draw those who don’t need help with English but want to get ahead of these issues before resettlement. Gospel conversations grow out of these interactions and the trust that is built between teacher and student.
Your support will also provide scholarships for refugee children to attend a local Christian school and fund transportation for believing refugees to attend small group Bible studies. By meeting the parents’ felt needs to learn English and educate their children, the refugee church hopes to engage the lost refugee community with the good news of Christ. The refugee church also hosts discipleship trainings and retreats for new believers, teaching them what it looks like to follow Jesus, obey His commands and glorify His name in every area of their life. Transportation is expensive for refugees who live hand-to-mouth, but your support will enable them to attend discipleship groups and grow in their new faith.
Give today to change the lives of people who feel they are stuck in a holding pattern but whom God is drawing into the most exciting faith-experience of their lives.
