Partner with our team, a group that is committed to Christ and passionate about spreading the gospel to people groups that are still unreached across Southeast Asia whom no one else is reaching.
Gifts toward specific efforts show us what you are excited about. Occasionally, we may redeploy gifts as we follow God's leading with urgent opportunities or changing international contexts. Any gifts received beyond the goal go toward a similar project or our team support.
Pushing Back the Darkness
Help us find and engage the remaining gospel-less people groups across Southeast Asia and teach local believers to share their faith with those who have never heard.
Disciple-Maker Training
Join our work through prayer and giving as we teach local believers to make disciples and plant churches among the unreached and unengaged people groups of the Asia Pacific Rim.
Entry Points into Unreached Communities
Gaining entry into the last unengaged unreached people groups is not easy. Many of these groups are in remote, hard-to-reach areas, and our national workers struggle to gain access. Your gift will support English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, medical work, and microbusiness strategies to open doors in the community for our presence and relationship building. You will open doors for the gospel to the last unreached peoples in Southeast Asia!
Prayer for the Unreached
Come alongside us to support local prayer events throughout the islands for the unreached peoples that are still unengaged. Together, we can be constant in prayer that they will know the joy of hope that comes from knowing Jesus.
Media Evangelism
Partner with us to use social, digital, and online media to spread the love of Christ throughout our country. We post gospel ads online to draw people who want to know more about Jesus. Your gift will fund ad campaigns, training for local believers to do follow-up, and gospel resources to give to seekers.
Hub Centers
The unengaged and unreached peoples we are seeking to reach are spread out over different islands. We're developing Hub Centers in strategic areas near several UUPGs. You helped us start two hubs in in 2 years that serve as strategic headquarters. Your gift today will start a third hub in a new unreached area. You will enable our local partners to reach people who have never heard that Jesus loves them!
Last year’s goal was to train 600 people to share the gospel and make healthy disciples. By the end of the year, through your sacrificial gifts to this ministry, 1,211 were trained to reach the remaining unreached, unengaged people groups (UUPGs).
While many of these trainings occurred in local churches, a good number took place in our training center. Because of your generosity, we recently renovated part of the building to more than double the number we can equip to share the gospel with those who have never heard.
Another opportunity for training happens annually at a local seminary. This year, you provided disciple-making training to 59 students, with plans to develop this program further. Throughout the training, over 200 local people heard the full gospel.
Thank you for sharing the love of Jesus with those who have never heard His name!

Bringing the gospel to the eastern islands of this nation is a God-sized task. Thank God for your continued gifts and prayers to see it happen!
Pastor Eko* leads a church on one of the farther-out islands. He is a faithful shepherd over his flock and committed to sharing the gospel.
Because of your generosity to this ministry, 35 members of his church were trained to share the gospel last year!
We continued following up with the pastor and church members throughout the year, casting a vision for them to share the gospel, especially with unreached, unengaged people groups (UUPGs).
Together, this small congregation committed to coming alongside you, our faithful givers, to support our team’s efforts to share the gospel with UUPGs. Praise God!
Pastor Eko and his church are one of the first national churches to partner with us in this way. This decision is a significant step toward local ownership of the Great Commission.
Just as Paul’s investment in the Philippian church led to their becoming a missionary-supporting church, this congregation is becoming a missionary-supporting church.
God has multiplied your gifts to this ministry. In equipping these believers to evangelize and disciple others, they also see the necessity of training others.
Thank you for your commitment to bringing the gospel to the islands. God is working among the people here.

We appreciate your faithful giving and prayers, which enable us to train, disciple, and equip national believers to go and share the gospel with UUPGs.

Two young missionaries visited Bima’s* village. They spoke his language because they were from a neighboring province.
They shared about Jesus and His great love, a love that caused Him to die for all the things Bima had done wrong. As Bima listened to them, he knew Jesus died for him.
Those two young missionaries came to Bima’s village under the Lord’s direction because of your compassion and generosity to this team.
As Bima began asking questions about Jesus and the Bible, he learned about believer’s baptism. Now, he has gone to another village to share the gospel with others.
Bima lives in one of seven different UUPG communities our team has visited recently. Thank you for making this possible.
In recent months, we have traveled with seven local young people, believers your giving enables us to mentor and train as missionaries to reach Muslim UUPGs.
Thank you for your gifts and prayers that undergird us as we meet new people daily who desperately need Jesus.

God calls us to bring the gospel to every UUPG in Southeast Asia, a God-sized assignment. Thank you for joining us through your sacrificial giving and faithful prayers!

“We have different beliefs, so let’s respect each other,” Rafi* said to Meilani* after she told him about Jesus. While this is a typical response when our team shares about Christ with people here, we find it is often just the beginning of a conversation about spiritual things. Rafi watched and listened to Meilani and her teammates as they talked about salvation, read Scripture together, and walked out their faith. Soon, Rafi asked Meilani for a Bible that he could read on his own, and now, he and his family have begun sitting with the team as they discuss Scripture together. Pray for Rafi and his family to recognize their need for the Savior, repent, and believe. Also, pray for the many people whose initial response is the rejection of the gospel; pray their hearts will soften as God pursues them, especially that they are open to additional spiritual conversions.
Ezra* is from a people group that is traditionally Christian but followed his wife’s religion when they married. When he heard the gospel from a member of our team, God convicted him, and he repented from abandoning his faith. Recently, Ezra followed through in believer’s baptism and is being discipled. Pray for Ezra as he grows in Christ and boldly shares the love and salvation Christ offers with his friends and family.
As our teams travel around, they follow the Luke 10:7 principle: “And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.” In some areas, teams find limited or no electricity. Many villages have little knowledge of health and wellness. Recently, a team noticed that the water looked like tea in every home they visited. They realized that locals drink the contaminated water regularly without boiling it. Pray for our teams who eat and drink what is offered to them as they serve the Lord and travel to unreached, unengaged people. Ask the Lord of the harvest to raise up more laborers for each unengaged group.
We are deeply grateful for your generosity, which sent Meilani and her team to Rafi’s village, a team to Ezra’s community, and other teams to areas across Southeast Asia where people have little access to the gospel. Your faithful intercession and gifts undergird our teams as they travel to some of our country’s most unengaged, unreached people groups.

Taman* listened politely as Jesse*, a member of our team, shared the gospel with her; then, she smiled and walked away. Like Taman, many of those with whom we share Jesus reject His offer of salvation. Over the last month, our team presented the full gospel to over 650 people, with only 111 open to further conversation about Christ. But that means 111 hearts are open to experiencing the love of Jesus!
Our team is committed to taking the gospel to the unreached, unengaged people groups (UUPGs) living in our corner of Southeast Asia. This task requires significant travel as we follow Jesus’ instruction to be witnesses for Him “to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8, CSB). As we go to those who have never heard the name “Jesus,” we share the love and message of Christ with those we encounter.
Thanks to your generosity, our team opened “Ambon Hub” this month, a gathering place of collaboration and coordination for ministry in the area. A team of six will use it as a base to reach 20 people groups around Maluku either by boat or other means. With your help, this team will develop and implement strategies for reaching these UUPGs in our region and bringing them Jesus’ message of hope.
Please join us in prayer:
Thank you for joining us in addressing the world’s greatest problem: lostness. Your gifts and prayers enable us to share the gospel with Taman and others in Maluku and Southeast Asia who need the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for sacrificially giving and faithfully interceding for unreached, unengaged people groups (UUGPs) across Southeast Asia. With nearly 200 UUPGs in this region containing over 11 million people, your gifts help us travel to locate, map, and study them so we can share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who have no access to the gospel.
Five new believers follow Christ. Your partnership made it possible to share the gospel with nearly 2400 people this year. A number decided to follow Christ. We continue seeking out national partners responding to God’s call to share the gospel with others, and we trained 577 in effective evangelism techniques in 2023.
God has called us specifically to work with UUPGs because they have little to no access to the gospel. This year, our team took 24 trips across Southeast Asia and visited 68 UUPGs or unreached cities. In each location, we worked to identify essential linguistic and cultural traits to formulate an evangelism strategy for reaching the people.

We are immensely grateful for your generosity! Your prayers and gifts address the world’s greatest problem, lostness. Thank you for partnering with us in this ministry.
Thank you for your generous support for our team and those God calls us to train to share the good news. Your faithful intercession and generosity underwrite training costs for participants at the training center, assist with travel costs for on-site workshops at churches and seminaries, and provide funds for trainees to get hands-on experience discipling new believers and witnessing to animists, Muslims, and Catholics.
Because of your gifts and the work of the Holy Spirit, these past six months have been filled with some of our most impactful trainings to date. From January to October 2023, we trained 523 people in sharing the gospel and making disciples.
Equipping Boot Camp instructs in the gospel. We hosted our first Equipping Boot Camp at our training center in August and September. We trained two women, Kersen* and Wulan*, in effective evangelism and discipleship. They also learned how to grow in spiritual maturity by working through unforgiveness, having daily time in God’s Word, and much more. In August, we worked out of the training center with a mix of classroom time and practice sessions. In September, we sent two teams, paired with some national teammates, to put into practice all they had learned. Seeing how both ladies grew over these two months was pure joy.
Since Boot Camp ended, we received word Kersen is already practicing what she learned. She has spoken at several churches to mobilize members to share their faith. We heard from her this week that she shared with two Catholic women in her city; neither had ever heard the gospel or even opened a Bible. These women repented and believed, and Kersen will begin discipling them soon.
Training seminary students produces fruit. The first week of October, we sent four nationals and a teammate to lead training at a seminary in another city. The group taught how to share the gospel, make disciples, plant healthy churches, and develop leaders to 55 seminary students. After three days of training, we went with the students into the community. Over the next two days, 218 people heard a full gospel presentation.
This event was the first in a three-year partnership with this school. We will return and lead similar training each semester, hoping to have previously trained students lead future sessions. We look forward to seeing God use the seminary trainings to spread His gospel and glory among the many people groups in these islands.

Thank you so much for your generosity to this team and the Southeast Asian people God calls us to reach with the gospel. Because of your prayers and sacrificial giving, we engage unreached, unengaged people groups (UUPGs) with the good news of Jesus Christ, and, as people come to faith, we equip and train them to share the gospel with their own people groups so they will learn to own the core Christian and missionary tasks of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting among those who have never heard.
Reaching UUPGs Where They Live. In partnership with you, we continue to send teams out all over the eastern part of our country. In June, four teams were sent out with 13 people. While researching UUPGs is the primary goal of these trips, team members always share the gospel wherever they go. Here are some stories of those encounters and how God used your gifts to share Christ’s love:
Gospel “Super Spreader.” In the last two months, our team met a couple named Mr. Steve* and Mrs. Han*. They readily received Jesus and started sharing with others. We called Mr. Steve a “super spreader” because he was so enthusiastic about sharing the gospel. Because he is a man of influence in the area, many listened to him; but his way of sharing Christ came across like a debate and turned off many in his community. Two members of our team traveled to and lived with his family for three weeks, modeling for him a way of communicating the gospel with love and compassion. The team also emphasized the importance of gathering to study God’s Word.
Fadhlan* Means “A Gift from God.” One of our teams visited a port city in the region, where they met with multiple pastors for training and vision casting. They also contacted a new believer from a previous trip and discipled him. Along the way, they met a young man named Fadhlan with a heart for the unreached. Just as Timothy joined Paul and Silas (Acts 16), Fadhlan, whose name means “a gift from God,” joined the team and continued with them to the next unreached people group.
The communities they visited were receptive to them but not the good news. Sadly, the team found parents diligent in having their children study and practice Islam but not so determined to follow it themselves. They also found the villages to need more education and health care. These are needs we can respond to because of your giving!

Thank you for your sacrificial gifts to our Advance Team and one of our primary ministries, “Pushing Back the Darkness Among Unengaged Peoples.” Encouraged by generous givers like you, our team is reaching out to unreached and unengaged people groups (UUPGs) living here in Southeast Asia.
Love of Neighbors. The government estimates that between 1999 and 2002, around 9000 victims died in the regional conflict between Muslims and Christians. To this day, our team sees the impact of these hostilities. Unfortunately, many believers are still scared and harbor hate in their hearts. Talking with people about loving their enemies and sharing about Jesus feels like an uphill battle.
UUPG Contacts. Recently, our team visited eight UUPGs in this region. They met over 400 people and shared the full gospel with 256 of them. Through the Holy Spirit’s power, six people committed their lives to Christ! We are following up with them, and one of them, a young man named Kam*, has started studying Jesus’ commands with our team.

Thank you so much for your generous support of our team and one of our primary ministries, “Pushing Back the Darkness Among Unengaged Peoples.” Because of your gift, we are locating and mapping the places unreached and unengaged people groups live (UUPGs) and developing a network to reach them.
Last year, your partnership enabled us to train more than 500 people in how to share the gospel. We also shared the full gospel with over 900 people and saw several people receive Christ! Praise God, the number of unengaged and unreached groups on our list is shrinking! As we research, we discover more about each people group, and sometimes we realize the people are now reached or engaged. We share the good news wherever we go, but so many people are distant and not open to the gospel. Thankfully, on occasion, we find some Christians who live close by the UUPGs.
Prayer requests:
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and partnership! Your prayer and gifts are truly making a difference through this project! Please prayerfully consider making another gift to support this ministry in 2023 so we can continue to identify unreached and unengaged peoples and share the gospel with them.
While walking through the market, two ladies from our team felt led by God to stop at a small shop that sold various foods and household items. (Think of this “shop” as a stand-alone store but more like a large closet with the front open to the street.) Little R*, the lady who ran the shop, was very welcoming and quickly made some coffee to share with her guests. Through spending time getting to know the shop owner, our team shared the good news about Jesus, and she believed with a joyful heart! After celebrating with her and giving her a few Bible lessons to study, the team left for the evening.

Greetings from the Islanders Discipleship team! We have some great news to share since you last heard from us. Two weeks ago, we signed the contract for our new building that will become the training center! A photo of the facility is attached. We just started our first trainings in the building this month! Praise the Lord and thank you for your support and prayer that made this possible.
The space has five bedrooms: one used as the primary training room, one used by our Journeyman who lives there and tends to the property, two upstairs for current and future national teammates, and the fifth for a to-be-discovered husband-and-wife team who will act as “dorm parents” and keepers of the property and also lead some trainings. We are praying to find this couple in the coming weeks. So, we are currently renovating, furnishing the rooms, and preparing the building to host more trainings.
While we had to be patient to find this new property, we didn’t have to wait to host trainings. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been doing in 2022. This year, our team has trained more than 200 national believers in initiating gospel conversations.
April was our busiest month, as our national team members went to multiple churches in our area and led trainings.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, I meet with our national team members to train and disciple them in other ministry tools, spiritual disciplines, and personal holiness.
I was able to lead a training alongside another national teammate for 13 members of the church we attend. The following week, several of the trainees traveled three hours to do a multi-day mission trip, teaching the churches in that location about initiating gospel conversations. That’s putting learning and faith into action! Together, the pastor and assistant pastor led someone to faith using the training material, and that individual has already been baptized!
May through July, our team was out in unreached areas. We visited 25 UUPGs during those three months, and five of those groups received follow-up two weeks later by a second team. They went to Flores and connected with a pastor who has a big vision to see all of Flores reached with the gospel. From that connection, our team was invited to visit several local churches where they cast the vision for reaching unreached people groups and trained them in initiating gospel conversations, following up with those who are open and believe, and reaching out to those UUPGs their on their island.
I also had the privilege of going on a weeklong trip to another island with one of our national teammates and checking on two UUPGs. While there, we met with three pastors, cast the vision to them and led one training. Another pastor there wants our team to return and conduct training for his church members.
It’s exciting to see so many local believers getting trained and going out and obeying God’s Word to make disciples of all nations. We look forward to seeing what is ahead and what all else God has planned for this training center. You are a part of this work! Thank you so much for your generosity and prayers! God is transforming lives here because of your partnership with us!
Because of your generosity, long-term workers and national partners visited 16 unengaged unreached people groups (UUPGs) over the last six months. Teams have traveled and shared the gospel, prayed through these areas, and trained other believers to share the gospel. These teams will return to follow up with those interested in hearing more about Jesus.
These teams have also found interested people who believe what we said but have not yet repented. Sometimes we meet Christians from other people groups who live near these unengaged groups.
At times, natural disasters occur where our UPGs live. Because of your gifts, we are ready to meet needs when it does. These are great times to share the love of Christ with them by providing food and supplies. We have helped in several areas lately.
