Will you join our team in praying for the people of Blue City? The people we serve are a welcoming people, open to spiritual conversations, but they are bound by the lies of Islam. With over three million in our city and no known believers, the task in front of us is clearly only one we can accomplish under God’s strength.
Our team of several families works alongside missionaries sent out by churches in neighboring countries. These missionaries are the first ever sent from churches in these countries. Unlike our western teammates, our missionary partners are able to easily move through the culture of the people we serve without raising the suspicions of the local government. We pray God will use them mightily to form churches in areas of the city we have been covering in prayer for years.
A partnership has formed with a local believing family to start a church in one district of our city where there are 300,000 people. The plan includes renting a space where new believers and seekers can meet together. Through the generous support of people like you, our team funds this strategic church plant by covering the rent for the building and underwriting evangelistic and discipleship efforts through online outreach and printed materials.
The church location is in a highly visible area and legally established under an evangelical Protestant foundation. While persecution is likely, this legal protection and recognition will create legitimacy in a community that is extremely suspicious of meetings in homes. Validity in the eyes of the community is critical for broadly sharing the gospel in this city.
This opportunity is exciting because the most fruitful church planting in this region has taken place when foreigners and local leaders partnered well together. Your partnership through prayer and funding is needed until a large enough local church is established to work toward becoming self-supporting.
