Believers in the Philippines are ready to send out missionaries to the unreached in their country and beyond, but the Philippine church must continue to be mobilized to join God’s global mission. Your gift will help IMB teams to mobilize the churches by printing and distributing prayer guides and training resources, funding mobilization events and providing prayer walking trips for local believers called to engage the unreached. This three-year strategy will enable IMB missionaries to teach local believers to pray for, share the gospel with, and plant churches among the unreached Muslim people groups in their country. The goal is to help Philippine churches send out their own missionaries to reach the Muslims in their country.
The five aspects of this mobilization strategy include:
1) Prayer Book
IMB teams will print and distribute 6,000 copies of a prayer book featuring the 14 unreached Muslim people groups of the Philippines. This valuable tool will be shared with churches and at events across the country.
2) Mobilization Events
IMB teams will travel throughout the Philippine archipelago to mobilize churches and Great Commission Christians. Many of these believers are interested in learning about, praying for, and engaging the Muslims around them, but they want guidance.
3) Prayerwalking Trips
IMB teams will organize prayer walking trips to offer hands-on mission-field exposure so Philippine Christians can meet Filipino Muslims and any Filipino missionaries who are already engaging them.
4) Mobilization Conference
In partnership with the Philippine Baptist Convention, IMB teams will conduct a mobilization conference in an area highly populated by Muslims. After the conference, follow up trainings will be offered to local churches who want to partner with the missionaries to engage in evangelism and church planting among their Muslims neighbors.
5) Print Media
IMB team will work with media experts to develop print media to bring awareness of the need for praying, giving, sending and going to the Muslim people groups of the Philippines. These materials will be displayed primarily at conventions, meetings, Stateside Assignment and local churches.
From the skyscrapers of Hong Kong and vast plains of Mongolia to smoky rainforests hiding winding rivers edged by golden sands, the natural beauty and long history of these Asia-Pacific Rim countries testify to God’s creative hand. This vast region houses four of the most populous global cities, as well as the country with the world's largest nominal population of Muslims.
Spirituality swirls through cities and countryside like the smoke from temple incense sticks. Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, animists, Daoists and ancestor worshipers live here, comprising 851 unreached people groups who have never heard that freedom is found in Christ. Pray for divine appointments for Christian workers to share that Jesus is the way to peace with God and eternal life. Ask God to glorify His name among the peoples of the Asian Pacific Rim Peoples affinity.
