Lighthouse in the Darkness of South Asia

Battle extreme darkness through holistic medical care in a Baptist mission hospital in South Asia.
While many places in the world are still developing and suffering from preventable diseases, only a few share the combination of poor access to adequate medical care, restricted access to the gospel, and unreached status. Thousands here in South Asia die every day from these preventable diseases without ever hearing the good news of Christ or experiencing the compassionate care of His servants. You can battle this reality by partnering with a Baptist mission hospital where long-term workers provide compassionate Christian care and proclaim the Source through whom eternal hope is found.

Under the umbrella of the hospital, the team of workers is creating needed Bible translations for the many surrounding unengaged people groups. They are also training local believers to engage their lost neighbors, producing Christian media for outreach, and developing Christian leaders. This work is broad-based, funding numerous strategies within the team’s mission. Specifically, the project will assist local believers doing outreach as they engage patients both in and out of the hospital. Your gift will help fund stipends for these workers and enable crucial spiritual follow-up in the surrounding villages and districts. Additionally, your partnership will enable the production and distribution of Christian literature and media and facilitate informal education programs in several villages. We present the good news at every opportunity, using these activities as a means of locating those who are seeking God’s truth.

This project also helps to maintain an established Christian camp that hosts youth revivals, pastoral training seminars, and various other Christian outreach programs. Give today to these vital strategies to spread the gospel to least-reached peoples across this South Asian country!

South Asian Peoples

South Asian peoples live within a kaleidoscope of colors, a cacophony of sounds, and a buffet of flavors that ignite the senses and warm the soul. This enigmatic region is the birthplace of four world religions but is also home to the world's highest concentration of lostness.

The 1.6 billion people of South Asia are concentrated in an area less than half the size of the USA. Muslims and Hindus comprise the overwhelming religious majority. Every week 225,000 South Asians die, most without Christ. Yet there are glimmers of gospel hope. Through the work of local Christians and foreign workers God is bringing South Asians to faith in Jesus, the church is growing, and stories of Christ’s redeeming power are emerging from the field.

More than a billion South Asian eyes are searching for hope. Pray for long-term workers and their local partners who share the love of Christ daily. Ask God to use their efforts to create a movement of his Spirit across the city and throughout countries and islands of South Asia!
