Answering Eternal-Life Questions. Questions about what happens after death have been on the hearts and minds of Thai people since a famous Christian Thai actress passed away recently. On our evangelistic Facebook page, your gifts advertised an invitation for people to know the God who created them. In Bangkok alone, 1,600 people saw the ad, and three people messaged, saying they wanted a personal relationship with Christ!
Somsak* responded to the Facebook campaign, and we shared the gospel with in a follow-up video call. He asked for a Bible. In response, we gladly gave him one, challenged him to read Genesis 1-11, and set up a time to meet again when he finished.
A Transformed Life. He told us he was so excited he read all 11 chapters in one sitting. He said, “The Bible is not like any other book I have ever read. It is like it’s speaking straight to me. In it, I find the answers that this world doesn’t have.” He had many questions about the Lord. I shared a simple gospel presentation with him because I could see God working in his heart. He counted the cost and said, “Yes! I’m ready to receive His gift of salvation and to follow Him!” Then, he prayed to the Lord in his own words, confessing his need for a Savior, and asked the Lord to redeem him. After he prayed, Somsak said, “I have an overwhelming peace right now. I want to tell everyone I know that I follow Jesus -- beginning with my mother.” Praise God! We are meeting soon to follow up in personal discipleship, but he lives in an area of the city without any Baptist churches.
Prayer Requests. Pray that Somsak will mature in Christ and that the Lord will use him to reach his family and friends with the gospel.
