Every year, more than two hundred million Chinese will travel, study, or work outside of their homeland. Most come from places where Bibles are restricted. When these travelers go beyond their border, volunteers can welcome them with free Bibles and the good news. Your gift of $20 makes ten Bibles available at a site visited by millions. A gift of $75 supplies Bibles for a tour bus full of travelers, and $900 will supply Bibles for a typical day at one distribution site.
Since 2004, more than 1.4 million Bibles have been distributed. That is good news because the Chinese Bible will teach East Asians about the only True Love and his path to life.
The Southern Cross project offers a low-risk, high-reward, beginner-level mission experience for SBC and diaspora volunteers. The leadership team connects volunteers with Chinese travelers, providing witnessing opportunities and, thereby, strengthening diaspora churches as church members practice sharing their faith. Southern Cross also partners with long-term workers located in diaspora cities to magnify their on-going ministries.
The gospel shared at the Southern Cross project is the power for salvation, leading Chinese travelers to Jesus, the only True Love. Your gift will give God's Word to thousands of Chinese tourists who otherwise may never see a Bible, much less have their own copy. You can transform a life in East Asia by giving today to the Southern Cross Bible Distribution Project.
From the skyscrapers of Hong Kong to the vast plains of Mongolia, East Asia is rich with 5,000 years of history and a bold vision for the future. This region, comprised of China, Japan, Mongolia, North and South Korea, and Taiwan, represents one-fourth of the world’s population and houses four of the world’s most populous cities.
Though East Asia has contributed some of the world’s most revolutionary ideas and valuable technology, the name of Christ remains unknown to hundreds of millions among its 213 unreached and unengaged people groups. Buddhism, ancestor worship, animism, Daoism, Hinduism, and Islam blind the people to Christ's truth. Only a tiny percentage among these East Asian people groups are Christian.
Pray that great breakthroughs will occur so that many of these yet-unreached people will call on the name of the Lord and be saved.
