About This Project
In the deserts of South Asia, Christ is moving in the hearts and minds of people in unprecedented ways. South Asian believers are actively engaged in the work of prayer, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and leadership development among many of South Asia’s least-reached people groups. Your gifts will extend the reach of these brothers and sisters helping them to evangelize and train new believers effectively.
South Asian believers are eager to take the good news to the least-reached, but many live day-to-day and lack the resources needed to travel for the missionary task. The cost of travel expenses like food, fuel or bus tickets become major obstacles. Sharing this cost allows them to take the gospel farther at this critical moment of Great-Commission history. Your partnership also enables these workers to release authority to emerging leaders and continue the missionary task in new fields.
Give today to extend the spread of the gospel into new towns and villages through South Asian church planters and their growing church networks!
Why direct giving matters
Giving directly to a missionary team helps fund the specific, on-the-ground needs your missionaries care deeply about—needs that aren't covered by CP and LMCO alone.
Partnering with National Believers. In the deserts of South Asia, Christ is moving in the hearts and minds of people in unprecedented ways. South Asian believers actively engage in prayer, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and leadership development among many of South Asia’s least-reached people groups. Your gifts are extending the reach of these brothers and sisters, helping them evangelize and train new believers effectively.
South Asian believers are eager to take the good news to the least reached, but many live day-to-day and lack the resources needed to travel for the missionary task. Travel expenses like food, fuel, or bus tickets become significant obstacles. Partnering with you on these costs allows them to take the gospel further at this critical moment of Great Commission history. Your generosity also enables these workers to develop emerging leaders and bring the gospel to new fields.
The Gift of Travel. Your giving currently provides monthly travel assistance for a South Asian church planting network and two South Asian national partners, training others while establishing and multiplying their own church planting networks. We have found travel assistance a tremendously effective way to advance the missionary task among new people and places, but current funding will only be available through November 2023.
Another key benefit of offering travel support is it becomes an investment in leadership development and mentoring. Throughout the book of Acts, Paul traveled from place to place with a team of co-workers who grew into the next generation of leaders. Our most successful national partners follow this same pattern. By traveling as a team to engage the lost, emerging leaders across multiple networks benefit from the hands-on mentoring provided. Your gifts provide for shared taxis and the increased expenses of traveling with a team.Lives Changed by Your Generosity. One national partner, Riaan*, distributes the travel aid he receives among other key leaders in his network. As a result, each of these new leaders has been able to travel from village to village sharing the gospel. Your giving is multiplying its impact as these leaders have begun discipleship groups in 10 new villages of relatively unreached people in the last two months. The cost of trips like this quickly adds up for South Asian believers, but they can reach the unreached with their travel expenses coversed.
Aryan*, another national partner focused locally on urban work, has followed connections from his city to villages over a day’s train ride away. Building on these relationships has proved his most fruitful field despite the distance, with close to 100 baptisms reported this year! Your giving provides this partner’s train tickets to these villages, allowing him to go wherever God leads, both near and far.
Thank you for your generosity and prayers. Your sacrificial gifts and intercession are truly transforming lives as we partner together to solve the world’s greatest problem, lostness.
The Oasis Project Stipend provides monthly travel assistance for a South Asian church planting network and two South Asian national partners who are training others and multiplying their own church planting networks. At our current funding level, this support will be available until the end of the 2022. Your gifts are vital to the spread of the gospel through these church networks. Please prayerfully consider making another gift to support the work throughout 2023!

We are so blessed that this work is occurring. Let us tell you a little about our progress:
We have found travel assistance to be a tremendously effective way to advance the work among new people and places. For example, one partner has begun new work in a previously untouched part of their state. Maintaining these relationships requires our partner to take a three-hour, 80-mile (one-way) bus ride at least two to three times a month. The cost of trips like this quickly adds up for South Asian believers who often barely make a livable wage. But with your support through this project, they can make these trips and also include their mentees to work and travel alongside them.
Another partner set an ambitious goal for his network at the beginning of the year, planning for them to share the gospel in 200 new villages in 2022. He believes they are on track to reach this goal by the end of the year! Without your support, this partner could not shoulder these kinds of travel costs. Sharing the burden has allowed him to embrace a larger vision of what is possible with God.
Yet another partner recently experienced multiplication in his network for the first time. Repairs made to his vehicle and gas in his tank have allowed him to keep moving among the villages near his city to evangelize, disciple, and raise up future leaders. These young leaders are now beginning to engage their communities with the good news of Christ!
Thank you for your partnership in this work! Your continued giving will allow support for these partners to continue their efforts in the years to come.
In the next five years, a globalization goal of all IMB workers is to mobilize 500 local believers to become global missionary partners serving on IMB teams.
