Pregnancy Centers of Thailand

Train and educate Thai churches and schools on the sanctity of human life to develop a loving community that serves and cares for women experiencing unplanned pregnancies.
At the mercy of a shame-based cultural reality and lack of education surrounding life in the womb, Thai women with unexpected or unwanted pregnancies are strongly encouraged to choose abortion over keeping the baby or making an adoption plan. Pregnancy Centers of Thailand, which originated in Chiang Mai, counteracts this influence by providing education and support that empowers women to make informed decisions when faced with matters of life in the womb. This ministry began with one center in the northern part of the country, and now the IMB team sees potential for starting centers in other parts of the country. Your gift will establish and support a new pregnancy center, called the ELM Project in Thailand.

These centers represent the first pro-life project of its kind in Thailand, combating robust pro-abortion resources which have been the primary option in Thailand for 50 years. ELM Project leaders train local pastors and church ladies who have a heart to work with young girls to educate them on the value of every life. In teams of two, ELM Project volunteers offer support and encouragement to girls who face unplanned pregnancy through Care Team Mentorship. ELM Care Teams walk with a girl during her prenatal journey and up to two years after birth. Through this ministry, young girls are empowered to make life-affirming personal decisions regarding the value of their own lives and life in the womb. Sanctity-of-life education is needed to educate and empower young girls to make informed decisions about pregnancy. The ELM Project teaches these life-affirming messages in communities, providing a natural bridge for the local church to be involved in the community at a deeper level. The ELM Project also seeks to equip the local Thai community to make informed decisions regarding life in the womb.

Location

Asian Pacific Rim Peoples

From the skyscrapers of Hong Kong and vast plains of Mongolia to smoky rainforests hiding winding rivers edged by golden sands, the natural beauty and long history of these Asia-Pacific Rim countries testify to God’s creative hand. This vast region houses four of the most populous global cities, as well as the country with the world's largest nominal population of Muslims.

Spirituality swirls through cities and countryside like the smoke from temple incense sticks. Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, animists, Daoists and ancestor worshipers live here, comprising 851 unreached people groups who have never heard that freedom is found in Christ. Pray for divine appointments for Christian workers to share that Jesus is the way to peace with God and eternal life. Ask God to glorify His name among the peoples of the Asian Pacific Rim Peoples affinity.
