Cave Church

The relics of Saint Simon the Tanner on display in the Cave Church of the Zabbaleen. Not to be confused with Simon the Tanner in the New Testament, this man lived in 10th century Egypt and is famous for his involvement in the purported miraculous moving of Mount Mokattam. The Coptic Cave Church is located in the predominantly Christian neighborhood known as “Garbage City” in Cairo, Egypt.
