Damba Dancers

Hospital staff gather for a Damba dance as part of a week long celebration for the Baptist Medical Centre’s 50th anniversary.

Damba is an annual Mamprusi festival during which a specific style of dance is performed. Drummers play talking drums and “call” dancers out from the audience. Dancers that perform well are rewarded with coins and bills which are placed on their forehead as they dance.
