Herodion National Park

These shots were taken at Herodion National Park, located about three miles outside of Bethlehem. Herodion is recognized as one of Herod’s “most ambitious building projects.” During Herod’s reign, the complex served as a summer palace, capital, burial ground, fortress and monument.

These frames depict the pool complex, or the “Roman Garden,” as seen from the road leading up to the top of Herodion.
