Learning a Craft

There are approximately a half a million people living in the Dandora Slums. One of the 3 largest slums in Nairobi. It has grown up beside the city landfill. Many of the residents make their living from picking through the garbage. Gangs, drugs, poverty and alcoholism are all factors creating a harsh living environment.

Here is a school that is run by local churches for the older children from the slums. On Saturdays they are learning skills that they could make into a crafts to become a tradesman, like weaving, etc.
