The “Magical Mask Festival” in Hamburg, Germany takes place each year, around the end of January. This yearly event is a tribute to the carnival in Venice. For two days, individuals in beautiful masks and impressive costumes parade through the main tourist area of Hamburg. With the town hall, canals, old beautiful buildings, and the city lake as their backdrop, individuals disguise themselves in beautiful costumes and take pictures with tourists and locals as well and pretend for a moment to be someone else by covering their faces with masks.
