This is the site of the Rome Baptist Church. This church was founded in 1963 by SBC missionaries. The church building was given over to the Italian Baptist Union in 1994. In 2001 SBC workers from Colorado arrived to serve as pastor and wife and they remain to this day. In 2000, the church became independent of the International Mission Board and became a self-supporting independent church.
