Gamla, an ancient walled city dating to the time of Joshua, is mentioned in the Talmud and the writings of Flavius Josephus. The city was built on the slope of a steep hill surrounded by cliffs for protection, but eventually fell to the Romans in 67 AD. Gamla is home to one of the oldest synagogues ever discovered in Israel.
These shots were taken from Round Tower of Gamla, overlooking the surrounding area.
