Squatters in Jakarta

Located on the island of Java, Jakarta is the capital of the Republic of Indonesia. Jakarta is a mega city of over 12 million people, most of whom are Muslim. Squatter communities, like this one, are present across the city and are often made of several families that survive by stealing water and electricity from nearby sources.
