Macau is one of China’s two Special Administrative Regions, and is located at the outlet of the Pearl River Delta bordering Guangdong province. Formerly a Portuguese colony, it now ranks as the most densely populated region in the world, and has the highest life expectancy. Macau’s economy is driven primarily by tourism and casino revenues.
