According to The Standard newspaper, London is a modern-day Babel. Home to over 270 nations, this global city breaks records with over 300 spoken languages. On one bus ride alone, you’ll be overwhelmed with the sounds of English, Polish, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, Arabic, Italian, and French. London is a melting pot of nations in desperate need of the Gospel. It is a microcosm of a world that needs your help. This assignment is designed specifically for older youth (16 -19) looking to experience first-hand what missions in an urban setting looks like. It is vital for the church to mentor and pour into the next generation. This is a chance for the Gen Z students to experience mission firsthand from those serving in the field. The entire trip is built around investing in the 16–19-year-old student in a laboratory setting. The week will be one that consists not only of learning about sharing in an urban setting but actually doing as well. Join IMB church planters, Journeymen, summer Interns, and local partners in meeting, sharing the Gospel, and discipling new believers from around the world living in a truly global city. You will have the opportunity to meet and build relationships with all kinds of people, lead Discovery Bible Studies, and help the team develop follow-up contacts for intentional discipleship relationships. But that’s not all. Both missionaries and local partners will spend time with you each day in training sessions and worship to help you meet the challenge of sharing Christ in this very secular setting. This Iron-on-iron time will focus on the missionary task from Entry to Exit. Participants will be trained from folks in each step of the missionary pipeline. Collegiate summer interns will share their story of how the Lord is using them for a 7 week assignment in broad Gospel seed sowing. 2-year Journeyman will mentor the youth and share how the Lord is using them to reach and disciple their peers. Church Planters will share how a call to live incarnationally as a vocation is seeing new churches started and lostness impacted. Local British partners will impart what it means for you to serve in their Jerusalem. This week will offer the opportunity to set the course for the next generation if missionaries to help solve the World’s greatest problem – lostness. Will you join us in learning about the missionary task in London?
