DESCRIPTION
Come, serve in Southeast Asia alongside long-term workers seeking to reach a city of 2 million. Fervent in their belief in Theravada Buddhism, but facing many hardships do to a difficult political situation, all are without hope. Our goal as a team is starting house churches across the city. This requires sifting through hundreds of relationships for those the Father has called into His Kingdom. Our goal for your team is to help build connections & sift through relationships, particularly among the young people of the city. This will involve various methods of entry including walking around in neighborhoods, hosting English Corners and other themed events, and striking up conversations with total strangers. If team members have special skills that can be harnessed for the task, we would love to incorporate those as well. Once relationships are established, you will work with long-term personnel to do follow up, share, and gage interest in the Good News. Join us in fulfilling the Great Commission here in Southeast Asia! Your first stop will be a joint orientation with other Nehemiah Teams at the Nehemiah Teams Training Center in Mentone, Alabama. Learning the skills needed to carry out your assignment as well as team building will fill these first few days. Your team will fly to your final destination for the summer. Following your summer of ministry, you will return to the US for a joint debrief... sharing all God has done over the summer. Participants must commit to the entire program from orientation through the end of debrief.
