DESCRIPTION
Work with Tribal Coffee Farmers to build relationships and share the Gospel in the Bukidnon Province of the Philippines. A simple yet beneficial project to help people and gain access into homes is to build solar dryers. Solar dryers can help reduce crop loss for coffee and greatly increase the income of smallholder farmers and cooperatives. Help build solar dryers to gain access and relationships with local people of peace while sharing the Gospel daily house to house. Team will also develop a farm for Solid Rock Children Development Foundation. This farm was started by former Nehemiah Team members, and the income from this farm will support the operational costs of the children’s home managed by Solid Rock Children Development Foundation. The farm will be managed by the local cooperative and Bukidnon Coffee Exchange. Your first stop will be a joint orientation with other Nehemiah Teams at the Nehemiah Teams Training Center in Mentone, Alabama. Learning the skills needed to carry out your assignment as well as team building will fill these first few days. Your team will fly to your final destination for the summer. Following your summer of ministry, you will return to the US for a joint debrief... sharing all God has done over the summer. Participants must commit to the entire program from orientation through the end of debrief.
