DESCRIPTION

University Ministry and Outreach Events in Lisbon, Portugal--Come help us reach students in this city of a little more than 3 million people where less than 1% of Porutguese are evangelical (2% evangelical counting immigrant groups). Work alongside IMB missionaries and a small team from a new church plant to do surveys and host events, English conversation groups, and Bible discovery groups to help students make steps to follow Jesus and get involved in the new church. You will have opportunities to work with the larger team with various church planting projects and helping with volunteer teams who come in the fall for Thanksgiving outreach events.

Other Requirements

  • Residency - An opportunity to serve on mission for one or two semesters while being mentored by an IMB field missionary. Active members of Southern Baptist churches receive a subsidy, which includes travel to/from Orientation/Debrief at ILC, room and board at Orientation/Debrief, travel to/from the field and emergency insurance. There is no subsidy for applicants who are not members of a Southern Baptist Church. All monies raised or donated in excess of the stated cost of this particular Residency trip will be used to offset the additional, subsidized field cost expenditure for the student. These monies may also be used to supplement the broader cost of ministry related to the Residency program, in general.
