Dr. Daniel Edney from Vicksburg, Miss., prays over a Haitian man he was treating who came into the clinic suffering from a 104 temperature, dehydration and some serious infections. The man was unable to get into the overflowing hospitals and the clinic was his first chance for treatment. After hours in the clinic, IVs, medicine and personal attention, the man was able to walk home feeling better. He also had medicine in hand to last him through his treatment. IMB Photo

During Songkran, the Thai new year national holiday, Thai Buddhists pour water on statues of Buddha. Throwing or pouring the water is meant to wash away bad luck from the previous year, and to represent purification and good fortune.
