Members of Deir-Mimas Baptist Church pray during a worship Sunday service. The Lebanese area of Deir-Mimas was hit hard during the 2006 Lebanon War between Hezbollah and Israel. Many members of the church left the area that sits on the border with Israel and took the dangerous drive two hours north to Beirut, Lebanon. Once they arrived, they stayed in the Baptist seminary or Baptist school for three to four weeks before returning to their homes.

A man in Khiyam, Lebanon, sits on the front porch of his house that was destroyed by Israeli rockets during the war between Hezbollah fighters and the Israeli army. Most of the homes in Khiyam, which borders Israel, were destroyed due to the many Hezbollah fighters who based themselves in houses to fight Israeli soldiers coming across the border. The 2006 Lebanon War reached a cease-fire on Aug. 14, 2006, but not before causing $3.6 billion in physical damage across Lebanon.
