Orthodox Jewish men pray and study at the traditional tomb of King David in 2019. One wears the tefillin, a pair of leather boxes containing Hebrew parchment scrolls, on his head and arm. Another Jewish man worships at the Western Wall of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in 2010. Sometimes called the “Wailing Wall,” it is considered the holiest site where Jews are permitted to pray. Some worshipers tuck written prayers into cracks in the wall.
