North Africans/Middle Easterners, Northern France

Fatima Zorah has lived in Europe for many years now. Originally from North Africa, her understanding of God came mainly from Islam, as she considered herself to be a Muslim. Recently, however, she's been contemplating whether God will let her into paradise. She's had a very difficult life and struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts. After chatting with a believer about God's goodness and the hope that awaits in heaven for those who follow Jesus, she is convinced that God is actively listening and working in her life. She was given an audio player and has access to the Bible in her heart language of Arabic. Thank the Lord for the openness of Fatima Zorah to listen to and receive the Bible! Praise God for His active pursuit and working in her life! With the many opportunities she has had to hear the truth, pray that her ears will be receptively open and her heart ready to believe and accept the salvation and redemption of Jesus. Pray that the Word she listens to will not return void but will accomplish its purpose in her life (Isaiah 55:11), leading her to surrender all to follow Jesus.

Honey People of the Horn of Africa

During a recent conflict, many people noticed how Abraha, a member of the Honey People who believes in Jesus, was spared, often miraculously, from many of the tragic events. One man told Abraha, "Your God must be real because He protected you when every other household experienced loss." During the conflict, his neighbors were taking notice of God's care and protection over Abraha's life. Abraha has used this opportunity to share the gospel with his community. "He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him" (Psalm 126:6 ESV). Give thanks to the Lord for bringing a harvest from the chaos of this conflict. Pray that many more Honey People will see Jesus in the believers around them and come to trust in Him!

Scattered Syrians of the Middle East

Hanaan works hard to support his mother, his sister, and some other relatives in his extended family. He is a young Syrian man seeking to have a better life in another country. Just recently, he has come into contact with believers. Pray for their boldness in sharing the gospel, and that Hanaan will be ready to hear and believe and follow Jesus!

Middle Eastern Arabs in the Southern United Kingdom

Sitting down at the dinner table, Moustaffa looked around at the joy on the faces of the Jesus followers who had gathered. He wondered why he should give thanks to God before eating his food. Wasn't it the same God who allowed his family to experience war and displacement in another country? Wasn't it the same God who took away his career, house, cars, brothers, and oldest son? If God is so good, why would He allow horrible things to happen to his family? The prayer of thanksgiving was ended in Jesus' name. But even Jesus was beaten and wrongfully accused, he thought. Some even say that He died on a cross. How could praying to Jesus possibly help this impossible situation? Please pray for Moustaffa to experience healing through the mighty name of Jesus. Pray that he will come to understand why Jesus died and why His followers can experience joy despite difficult circumstances.

North Africa/Middle East Refugees in the Diaspora

Aatif grew up in a country where gangs and violence were prevalent. In hopes of a better life, he and a friend risked it all to make their way to Europe. On the journey, it looked as though they might have found a person to take them across the sea for a very high fee. In the midst of this, Aatif's friend died. Not only was Aatif heartbroken to lose his friend, but he also had to tell his friend's father that his son had died. When the person who was going to help them get across heard that Aatif had told his friend's father about the death, he became enraged, realizing that he would lose out on the money of the friend's passage. He took his anger out on Aatif in the form of physical violence. When Aatif was telling this story to a believer he met recently, he said that back then, he didn't want to live, but he is thankful to God that he doesn't feel that way now. Please pray that Aatif will come to know the love of the true Father and the Son who gave up His life for Aatif.
