Recently, the Deaf ministry team in a Southeast Asian country had a big feast for all the Deaf churches in the area. After the feast, they led a church service, and the believers started a new "tradition" of creating a worship song using the Scripture they learned that week as the basis for the song. They've continued that tradition, preferring to worship after the Scripture sharing instead of before it. It's exciting to see them take on more responsibilities of the church and to take ownership of it. Praise God for how He is working among the Deaf believers there! Pray for their continued growth in Him and for boldness to share God's stories with other Deaf.

During worker Gretchen Snow's recent time working at a Deaf school in a Southeast Asian country, she was teaching a woman who was a secret believer. Gretchen shares that, unfortunately, the woman isn't following Jesus anymore. She asks you to pray for the woman. Also pray for Gretchen amid this discouraging turn of events. She writes: "The Father has the best plan, and there are more blessings available from Him. It is all for His glory. He is teaching me to be humble and to look forward to doing what He wants me to do in my tasks."

Last fall, a young man from the United States joined the Southeast Asian Deaf ministry team for a six-month term of service. He's been a huge blessing for the team and their Southeast Asian partners, especially the college students. Worker Madeline Hawthorne shares: "We really enjoyed having him on our team. He is wrapping up his time here and will transition back to the U.S. this month. He has not made any future plans and is trying to trust the Lord to guide him, but he covets your prayers on how to proceed. Transitions are hard enough even when you know what to expect, but they are worse when there are unknowns. I know that God will care for him no matter what comes next, but I understand his desire for answers and appreciate your prayers for him."

Worker Hannah Yount shares about a young West African Deaf man who has attended the church for many years: "He is finally 18, which means that he can legally be baptized. And he immediately chose to do so! Please pray for the faithful believers of this Deaf community, asking that the fruit of their efforts will continue to be blessed and that God will move in mighty ways in and through them."

In October, the ministry team that serves among the Deaf in a Southeast Asian country resumed going to the college campuses every week to develop relationships and share the good news with Deaf students. One day, the college students went on a float trip ("white water rafting," they called it, although there weren't any rapids). Afterwards, they came back to the team leaders' house for dinner and a Bible study. They invited many unbelievers, and these visitors had an opportunity to respond to an interactive gospel presentation. Praise God for the opportunities for workers to share with Deaf college students! Pray that the seeds that are being planted will bear much fruit and that Jesus will be known among the Deaf students on this college campus.
