Tribe of Peace in Northern Africa

As tens of thousands of Tribe of Peace people are fleeing conflict in their country, many of these new refugees are hearing the good news and coming into God's kingdom through believers they are meeting in the refugee camps. Praise the Lord for the growth of His Church! Pray for the healthy discipleship of these new believers. Pray that the good news will continue to be shared boldly and that there will be healing from the trauma that many of these believers have experienced as they find their true hope and home.

Tajiks of Tajikistan

(TAH-jeeks) - Summer is long and hot in Tajikistan. Though the heat can be unpleasant, movement into the mountainous regions is much more free since the snow and avalanches aren't there to present risks for travel. Pray for Tajik believers as they visit these remote villages and valleys this summer. Ask the Lord to open the blind eyes of those living in remote regions. Pray that many Tajiks will come to faith, someone will be available to disciple new believers, and churches will be planted--all for the glory of God!

Refugees in South Korea

"Last summer, an English camp was held in a new area, with the hope of reaching more people with the gospel. The camp was a success, and another one is planned this summer. The most urgent need right now is for native English teachers, please pray for God to provide the individuals of His choosing. Please pray for the many preparations and for the camp to be another "success" so that the gospel may spread in this community."

Punjabis of Pakistan

(pun-JAH-bees) - How many things a day do you have to do that you may not feel like doing? Maybe it's easy tasks, like washing dishes or getting the laundry done, or perhaps it's a bit more challenging, like a huge project at work. Sometimes, you just have to muster up the gumption to start and accomplish the task at hand. But other times, tapping into the power of Holy Spirit is all you can do to get done the huge task set before you. There are more than 230 million Pakistanis, and less than 3% are considered to be followers of Jesus. It's a huge undertaking to get the gospel to every man, woman, child in Pakistan. If anyone was trying to do it in their own strength, then it would not be done. However, all things are possible with God! Pray for some believers as they attempt to get the gospel into every home in the Punjab province of Pakistan. "But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible'" (Matthew 19:26 ESV).

Northern African and Middle Eastern Unengaged Peoples

What a privilege it is to intercede for a small ethnicity of 9,500 people! Are there others praying for the salvation of the Jumam of Chad? As we read in Revelation 7:9 (ESV), they will be one of "a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb." The Jumam people speak the Kim (pronounced kia) language. Praise the Lord that there is Scripture translated into the Kim language! The Jumam follow animistic beliefs. They live only in the African country of Chad. Pray for the salvation of Jumam men, women, and children. Pray that they will hear the good news in their language that God loves them and has a plan for their salvation. Pray for them to hear the name of Jesus!

Ngoni of Tanzania

(n-GO-knee) - Pray for the pastors and members of three Baptist churches in Tanzania to "catch the vision" to take the gospel to the Ngoni people. One of those churches is located in the growing town of Songea, and the other two churches are in rural village settings. The Ngoni are strong adherents to the Roman Catholic religion, but many of them do not know Jesus personally as Lord and Savior. Ask the Lord to draw hundreds and thousands of Ngoni to His Son, Jesus, and to bring them under conviction of their sin of unbelief, of His righteousness, and of judgment (John 16:8-11).

Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

(van-COO-ver) - Metro Vancouver has thousands of high-rise apartments filled with hundreds of thousands of people. They live in close proximity but, for the most part, live in isolation from one another. Residents will occasionally greet each other as they pass in a hallway or share an elevator ride, but that is it. Pray for local brothers and sisters living in these high-rise apartment buildings that they will have a burden to pray for and share the gospel with their neighbors. Pray also for the Holy Spirit to work through a missionary couple as they look to build relationships with three neighbors that they've recently met; Scott, Nancy and Lisa. Please pray for them to trust Jesus and be saved.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

(HOE-chee-men) - A mature believer who moved to Ho Chi Minh City last summer was praying to God for a connection with a local believer. Later that week, he was playing pickleball with a young man named Khang, who was wearing a shirt with the word "JESUS" in large print across the front. The mature believer asked Khang about the shirt and Khang told him he went to a university in the U.S.A. and was part of a Baptist fellowship. Later they met up for coffee and Khang talked about his time in the U.S.A., his faith, and his connection to the Baptist fellowship. Towards the end of coffee, the mature believer asked if Khang wanted to study the Bible together and he said yes. They are currently studying the Book of John weekly. Pray for the mature believer to have wisdom as he leads the study and that his friendship with Khang will grow. Pray for Khang to love God's word and that God would give him a heart to share the gospel with his own people in their language. Pray Khang would have boldness being the only believer in his family. Pray that more locals will join this study.

Global Cross Project (GCP), East Asian Peoples

"Dear friend, thank you for continuing to pray for the Global Cross Project. This is truly a season in which maximum prayer is needed. Please boldly ask the Lord to provide the following things for the advancement of His kingdom and glory. Ask the Lord to raise up Chinese churches who are prepared to work with us. Ask the Lord to provide people of peace in the tourism, student, and immigrant communities who are willing to provide needed information and be network connectors for the future works. And ask the Lord to show Global City teams favor at the places where immigrants, students and tourists frequently gather."

Equipped to Serve in the Americas

"On June 21-28, our Connections Team will be hosting our largest volunteer team yet! We will have 32 people coming to work alongside of us from two different churches--one group from South Carolina and the other group from Ohio. Please pray for us as we work to accommodate such a huge group, and ask that with these numbers, many more people will hear the gospel and be brought to the Lord. Pray that everyone around will see the glory of the Lord and be drawn to Him!"

Conakry, Guinea

(KON-ah-kree) - "Youthful" is one way to describe Conakry, Guinea. Surprisingly, 70% of the population in Conakry are people under the age of 30, with 50% of those considered to be "adults" being under the age of 30. This youthfulness can be seen in the busyness around schools or university campuses when classes let out. It can be seen in the hustle and bustle around the city in the evenings when these youth are exploring the nightlife of this capital city. Through social media and the internet, these youth are being influenced by outside cultures. However, with their desire to learn new things comes an openness to learning from the Bible, even for many of the Muslims in this Islam-dominant country. Believers work alongside these youth at the university, engaging them with the gospel. Pray that the veil covering their eyes will be taken away as they hear and understand who Christ is and turn to Him. Pray that they will experience the true freedom found only in Christ.
