Pedi of South Africa

(PEH-dee) - Pastor Pete Hypes, stateside coordinator for the Pedi work, writes: "As the season of Advent is here, I am thankful that God is with the Pedi people whether they are in South Africa in the Sekhukhuneland area of Limpopo province or the city of Johannesburg, in the country of Zimbabwe, or anywhere else in the world. Please pray that the Light of the world will penetrate the darkness caused by the lostness that is prevalent among the Pedi. Pray that the Pedi who are ensnared by African traditional religion, animism, ancestral worship, and other false beliefs will hear the one true gospel and meet the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ."

North African and Middle Eastern Peoples
Northern Oasis People of Arabia

Believers in Northern Oasis have been growing in number and have been attempting to gather regularly as a group over the past year. They have recently experienced attempts by others to break up the group. Amid uncertainty, grief, and fear, a core group of believers are working to come back together and persevere in gathering as the body of Christ. Ask the Spirit to give wisdom, clear direction, provision, and protection to these believers as they attempt to gather together. Pray for perseverance, great faith, and joy in the midst of these difficult days. Many are clinging to the promises of Romans 8 and the first chapter of 1 Peter. Please use these powerful passages as a guide to intercede on behalf of Northern Oasis believers, trusting the Father's kingdom-building work to prevail.

Northern African and Middle Eastern Peoples

Across the desert lands of northern Africa, there is conflict. There are outright wars raging and underlying struggles simmering. There is civil and ethnic strife due to age-old, unsettled disagreements. And among many nations, this is exacerbated by draining, economic poverty. Men, women, and children are living in trauma. Many of the people of the desert are broken and in great need of healing and peace. In this Advent season, celebrate the King of kings and the peace that He brings, "and he shall speak peace to the nations" (Zechariah 9:10 ESV). Please pray for the desert peoples of northern Africa to hear the good news that the King can bring peace to their hearts, their homes, and their nations. Intercede for an end to the complicated layers of conflict. Pray, looking forward to the day when "they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore" (Isaiah 2:4 ESV).

Melting Cities, East Asia

Three leaders are preparing to pioneer a new church in one city. Currently, they are preparing through prayer and collaboration with fellow brothers and sisters. Pray that God extends His helping hand abundantly in this endeavor. May these churches not only be a conduit for the greater understanding of God's love but also effectively convey the true value of the gospel to the local community. Pray also that the leaders and brothers and sisters pioneering the church will have the strength and courage to persevere and not be discouraged by any trials they may face. Pray they will rely on the Lord to the end and submit to Jesus, the head of the church who has come as a light into this chaotic world.

(kahm-PAH-lah) - "Refugees from Sudan has been pouring into Uganda as a result of the unrest and fighting that began in April of this year. Most have found themselves in the capital city of Kampala without jobs or places to live. The local Sudanese community has taken them in, and some house up to 20 extra individuals in their small apartments. Our Kampala Urban Team has partnered with Send Relief to get them food aid. Through these efforts, 10 refugees have come to faith! Would you pray for the ongoing relief efforts and for the gospel to continue moving forward in the Sudanese community?"

Please pray for Deaf in the Middle East as they deal with the current situation of unrest. Many Deaf people lack access to vital information during a crisis because of language barriers. This can compound their suffering. Pray especially that Deaf will have access to information in their language. Ask God to also meet their physical and emotional needs. Pray for opportunities to see the good news in and through those who are serving them, which is their greatest need.
